Jeremy checks out the slider...
Then we noticed they delivered all the stuff to start the HVAC!!!
July 27th, 2009
We officially have a FRONT door... YEAH!!! And windows... it's starting to really feel like a house now!!!
Then we went for a little walk around the "new/old" neighborhood!
He LOVED checking it out!!!

July 26th, 2009
We decided to take Buddy over to see the house and let him "sniff" around :-)

Deborah does her best "Vanna White" in front of our fireplace... in our family rm with no roof yet!

Deborah goes down to check the sump! And as you can see comes back up smiling... Looks good!

Looks a little scary but I walked across to get to the master bedroom!

Backyard is shaping up nicely... can't wait for Little Buddy to have his own little fenced in area!

Jeremy & I were quite excited - finally we had a third person to take a picture of US... since we are usually there by ourselves :-)

As you can tell by the smirk of Jeremy's face... he's tired of my picture taking

Then just a we walk inside we hear our FIRST official visitor toot their horn outside and guess who it is... Deborah Doodeman!!! Of course we invited her right in to our humble abode to have a look around!

July 19th, 2009:
We ALMOST have a "real" house!!! YEAH!!!

July 10th, 2009

Deborah & I were talking on her way home tonight as she was driving past our house... She said we have an entire first floor now!!! YEAH!!!
Loved this action shot.. they were moving right along!

July 10th, 2009
I stopped by today around 3:30pm to bring the Framers some cupcakes, a couple cokes & waters, etc. They were so excited!!!

How I almost DIED yesterday at our storage unit!!!

Now I realize the picture (see below) is not too clear but do you see the recliner? It's up near the ceiling (pink arrow)... SO as I am climbing around like a monkey trying to see what I could possibly get to... I've got one foot on the round part of the elliptical machine and about 1/2 of my other foot on one of Jeremy's truck tires... as I'm turning around to get down ... the chair literally hits me in the back of the head and knocks me to the ground!!! I'm not kidding I thought I was for sure going to die... so after that I decide I'm just going to go home!!!

THEN to matters WORSE ... Up to this point I had been very strategic in how I moved things... making sure I remembered how it went back... because as you can see the storage unit is PACKED floor to ceiling and the door just barely opens & closes!! SO I knew if I didn't put each piece back just as I found it .. the door wouldn't shut...

Just picture me... I'm hot, sweaty, and my muscles were already tired from moving all the stuff out .... and NOW I've got to figure out how I 'm going to get this chair (that just fell on me!) back up over the grill & elliptical machine BY MYSELF!!! I probably tired for about an hour and a half ... I thought at one point I was going to have either a heart attack or a heat stroke (actually went back to my car and took 2 baby aspirin!!!) I finally decide I'm just going to sit my car and wait for someone to drive by ... flag them down and beg them to help me... Our unit is right near the front gate and I would say 10 cars had gone by since I'd been there... OF COURSE 20 mins go by and not a single car! So I decide I'm going to drive around and I can't find anyone.. I'll just leave the chair outside with sign that says FREE!!!

HOWEVER as I'm driving around I see a "Two guys & a Truck" .. so I stop and ask the guy if he was paying them by the hour and if I could please pay him to borrow one of his movers to help me for 2 mins to get this stupid chair back up!!! The old man who had hired them to move him says, "No" .... then there's a long pause... he starts walking towards my car and says, "BUT I guess I'll help you!" I take this man, who was at least 70 yrs old in my car to our unit to help me... I thought at one point HE was going have the heart attack!!! But we got the chair back up and shut the door... And as I told Jeremy yesterday I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK TO THE STORAGE UNIT!!!

As we were leaving, I asked the guys if they wanted us to get them something to drink and there said, "yeah, sure" so we went and got them a couple sprites, cokes, and waters - having no clue what they would want! I'm thinking tomorrow I'll take them cupcakes or something more fun! :-) It's was almost 9pm when we left and they weren't even packing up or anything.. I guess they work until the sun goes down??!!
Jeremy as he poses for yet another picture at the new house :-)

Here's all the "lumber" that dropped - Jeremy & I were joking tonight saying, "we're going to have a stick built home! " ... Love that term, STICK built! :-)

July 9th, 2009
We stopped by tonight after dinner at 8:30pm ... we were just hoping to make it over before the sun went down & we were shocked when we pulled up and there were 4 guys still working hard!!!

Thursday, July 2, 2009

And then we went home to open presents and eat cake... Jeremy really really LIKES the singing birthday cake plate.. he had never seen it before :-)
Mom wore her NEW shirt!!!

Dad wore my favorite shirt ... and I wore my new favorite uniform :-)

We went to Flemming's for dinner...

Plus all window wells are now in... Framing starts on Wednesday next week... Now on to more important things.. Like my birthday...

And we have concrete ... on the basement floor AND garage...

Brick Color & Package Sheet
Yes I took pictures of the house colors.. such a dork I know... but here they are.. now let's hope they look as good in the house as they do here... you can't really tell from the picture but we went with the glazed cabinets this time...

And yes it's an unfortunate street name but there it is... I feel sorry for our future kids already... I can just hear them now... "we live on Mis sin ne wa" !!! :-)
And FINALLY we are up to date! The pictures from the last posts were the latest and greatest... Joel, our WONDERFUL superintendent for the house, just emailed me and said they poured the rest of the concrete today... YEAH!!!
Buddy gets a talking to about being on the construction site!
And we have underslab plumbing!

Buddy assesses the situation...

Tried to buddy to pose for the picture but we were unsucessful!

Little Buddy & Jeremy... "look both way before you cross!"

Buddy in his car seat on the way to see the new house! So excited as you can see...

Then attempt #2 - better for Jeremy... and then there is me like, "I'm over here!" Our first attempt at taking a picture of us together by ourselves...
In all my years of homebuilding... someone finally explains what this is to me... Thanks Jeremy!

This was on a Friday night.. June 26th, 2009 - we still can't figure out how why they didn't get that last little bundle on the truck and then take off...??? OR why they put one window well on and left the other 2 off??

Jeremy LOVES these actions shots I get of him as he looks at the progress :-)

Don't fall in Mister...
